August Van Gogh Yarn Box – Seascape near Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer
August’s Van Gogh Yarn Box will be based upon ‘Seascape near Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer’. The painting was created in 1888 during a trip from Arles to the fishing village in the south of France. Van Gogh was enthusiastic about the colours of the Mediterranean Sea. He wrote that it ‘has a colour like mackerel, in other words, changing – you don’t always know if it’s green or purple – you don’t always know if it’s blue – because a second later, its changing reflection has taken on a pink or grey hue’.
Boxes will be available to purchase until Monday August 26th and will be posted out at the end of the month.
Take a look at the product gallery to see January’s Van Gogh Yarn Box which took its inspiration from ‘The Starry Night’, February’s Van Gogh Yarn Box which took its inspiration from ‘Irises’, March’s Van Gogh Yarn Box which was inspired by ‘Sunflowers’, April’s Van Gogh Yarn Box which was based on ‘The Night Cafe’, May’s Van Gogh Yarn Box which was inspired by ‘Wheatfield With Crows’ and June’s Van Gogh Yarn Box which was based on ‘Flowering Plum Orchard’.
