December 2016 Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club

Jaki Bogg of Hot Butter Yarns, based in Skipton, North Yorkshire, was out dyer for December.

Her inspiration came from the festive image, ‘Christmas at the Corn Exchange’, which was taken at the historic trading centre in Leeds by Shutterspot Photography.

November 2016 Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club

Louise Lavender of The Cryptozoologist was our dyer for November. She is based in Beverley, East Yorkshire.

Her inspiration came from the image, ‘Fallen Leaves’, by Shutterspot Photography. The pictures was taken at Baa Baa Brighouse HQ and reflected the changing colours of nature at this time of year.

October 2016 Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club

Our dyer for October was Katie Pearce of Sylvan Tiger Yarn based in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Her inspiration came from ‘Stained Glass’ by Shutterspot Photography. The picture was taken at St Matthew’s Church in Rastrick, just a stone’s throw away from Baa Baa Brighouse HQ. There is evidence to suggest that the site has been a place of worship from as early as the 10th Century.

September 2016 Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club

Our dyer for September was Sherry James of Ba’Tat Hand Dyed Yarns based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire.

Her inspiration came from ‘Painted Lady’, a picture of the native butterfly on some wonderful pink blooms taken at Temple Newsam in Leeds by Shutterspot Photography.

August 2016 Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club

Our dyer for August is Jodi Rooke of Cuddlebums based in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

Her inspiration came from ‘Forget Me Not’, a picture of the traditional English bloom that was taken by Shutterspot Photography on the banks of the Calder and Hebble Navigation Canal in our hometown of Brighouse.

May 2016 Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club

Our dyer for May was Katie Pearce of Sylvan Tiger Yarn based in Leeds.

Her inspiration came from ‘The Folly’, which depicts Victoria Tower on Castle Hill in Huddersfield against a brooding lilac sky.

April 2016 Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club

Our dyer for April was the super talented Sherry James of Ba’tat Hand Dyed Yarns in Ilkley.

Her inspiration came from ‘Crocosmia’, a gorgeous image by Shutterspot Photography, captured in the gardens of Temple Newsam in Leeds.

We think Sherry did a tremendous job at transferring the deep, rich reds and oranges of the picture to her Doe yarn, a 75% wool and 25% nylon 4 ply. Beautiful!

March 2016 Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club

Our dyer for March was the lovely Jodi Rooke of Cuddlebums in Halifax. Well known for her bright, bold colourways, we were confident that Jodi could rise to the challenge.

Her inspiration came from ‘Urban Sunrise’, a shot taken in Leeds city centre by Shutterspot Photography.

Jodi always manages to surprise us and the March Club is no exception. Introducing ‘ Melted Sunrise’ dyed on a Bluefaced Leicester and bamboo mix sock yarn base. Just beautiful!

February 2016 Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club

Our dyer for February was Jaki Bogg of Hot Butter Yarns, a talented textile artist based in Skipton.

Her inspiration came from ‘Blackstone Edge’, an image by Shutterspot Photography that was taken at Blackstone Edge Reservoir situated on the border of Calderdale and Lancashire along the Pennine Way.

We love how Jaki managed to capture a range of really deep colours in her project.

January 2016 Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club

Our dyer for January was Louise Lavender of The Cryptozoologist, based in Beverley. Louise is passionate about Yorkshire yarn and has been collaborating with the Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club for a considerable period of time.

Her inspiration came from, ‘Blackshaw Sunrise’, an image by Shutterspot Photography that was taken on the moors above Hebden Bridge on a crisp Winter morning.

We think Louise has done a terrific job of capturing the vivid colours on display.
