I am delighted to announce that Baa Baa Brighouse has joined HRH the Prince of Wales in supporting the Campaign for Wool.

The campaign, of which Prince Charles is patron, aims to raise awareness among consumers about the unique, natural and sustainable benefits of wool, educating and reconnecting people with its myriad of uses.

Baa Baa Brighouse is committed to using wool in at least 75% of the garments it produces overall, as well as stocking a range of wool yarns from Yorkshire manufacturers, particularly those containing the county’s own bluefaced leicester.

Our aim is to support Yorkshire sheep farming and the many independent and artisan businesses, from hand weavers to hand dyers, that thrive as a result.

Since its launch in 2010, the campaign has seen a threefold increase in the prices farmers receive for their wool, and that can only be a good thing for British farming.

Each year, the campaign stages Wool Week – a celebration of all that is great about wool. This year’s festivities will take place from October 6 to October 12. Do keep checking back for updates on what Baa Baa Brighouse has planned!
